SKERRYVORE XV // ACCESS POLICY
Decade Events Live Ltd and Argyll Estates warmly welcomes all visitors to Inveraray Castle & Gardens for SKERRYVORE XV. We recognise that visiting many historic properties and the countryside can present difficulties for people, therefore we are continually improving procedures, and providing extra assistance where possible to ensure that all our visitors can enjoy a comfortable and enjoyable day out.
We hope this guide will provide the information you need to help you enjoy your visit. Further information and advice is available by contacting xv@skerryvore.com or the Estate Office.
Event Site Access
All the public areas of the XV arena are accessible for wheelchairs. The access road to the main arena is tarmac with no steep climbs and very good surface. The main arena itself will be a mix of gravel, grass and tarmac.Gravel can obviously be challenging for wheelchairs so if you require any assistance when you arrive, please talk to a member of staff and they will be happy to assist you.
PA Tickets
If your disability requires you to have a personal assistant (PA), your PA is eligible for a free ticket. Please contact xv@skerryvore.com if you require a PA ticket. Please note that free PA tickets exclude VIP. VIP tickets can only be purchased at full price.
You will be required to provide proof of your eligibility for a PA ticket both on issue of code and at the main gate, so please bring along evidence of your PIP payments or we will also accept a Credibility/NIMBUS Access Card (http://www.accesscard.org.uk)
Blue Badge Parking
There will be a limited number of blue badge parking spaces available at the XV Carpark which is adjacent to the festival arena. To reserve a blue badge space, please contact xv@skerryvore.com with details of your Blue Badge accreditation/permit.
Accessible Toilets
There will be fully wheelchair accessible toilets in the main toilet zone and in the VIP toilet zone. Unfortunately, the VIP toilets are accessed by stairs so not wheelchair accessible, however there will be a wheelchair accessible toilet situated next to the VIP toilets.
If you have a medical condition that requires you to be able to get to a toilet quickly, please talk to a member of the first aid team, who will be situated at the first aid station. They will be able to ensure you can get quick access to a toilet.
Assistance Dogs
A ‘recognised Assistance Dog’ is one which has been specifically trained to assist a disabled person and which has been qualified by one of the charitable organisations as members of Assistance Dogs UK.
Please let us know in advance if you will be bringing your Assistance Dog to the festival by emailing xv@skerryvore.com
Visually Impaired Customers
Some of our security team at the main gate, along with some of our first aiders will be wearing a Ramble Tag Guidance Aid. Should you require any additional assistance navigating any specific areas of the site the team are there to assist you. For more information on Ramble tag please head to www.rambletag.co.uk
Folding Chairs
Under advice from the authorities and, subsequently as a condition of our license, there will be an allocated area for people bringing folding chairs to the event. Folding chairs will not be permitted outside of this area. Whilst the area will be first come first served, priority will be given to people who have a disability or health issue that means they cannot stand for long periods.
If you have a disability or health issue, please contact the team on the details below so that we can arrange for you to receive an access wristband which will give you priority to the folding chair area. Please note that XV or the Estate does not provide the folding chairs and you will be required to bring your own.
Wheelchair users are welcome in all public areas of the site, however, if you are a wheelchair user and are more comfortable away from the hustle and bustle you are also welcome in this area
Strobe Lighting
Please note some of the music performances may include strobe lighting.
Accessible Facilities
If you have any access requirements, please contact us at xv@skerryvore.com by Monday 18th May and attach a scan of a letter from the DWP or alternative evidence supporting your requirement of the use of the accessible facilities.
